Made to measure bridesmaid dresses that DON'T fit!?
Hi Everyone - Im really hoping someone can help me! Im one of three bridesmaids & we have a problem! Our dresses were purchased from a bridal shop in Reading, Berkshire but were to be made in China. We had our measurements taken in early February & our dresses finally landed yesterday. The material is lovely, the colour just as the bride wanted, the stitching is perfect ... problem is THEY DONT FIT! They are in no way, shape or form 'made to measure'!! The smallest bridesmaid has put on about 4lb since February, she was worried her dress wouldnt fit ... its hanging off her - the bust is way too big. Me (the middle one) have lost weight & inches with a personal trainer - my dress will not go anywhere near me - the gap between the two sides of the zip on the back are about 6" apart ... the other bridesmaid who had the biggest measurements, has lost 1 1/2 stone since February her dress only just fits (she thinks its too tight) and its about a foot too long!!! What the hell are we meant to do? to top it off, the bride wanted a shoulder piece on the dress (hard to explain) but basically a piece of material fixed from the bust going over the shoulder & fixing on the back ... she specifically said how wide, where abouts from & too ... the dress arrives with a rectangular piece of material that HOOKS on ... at no point did she ask for it to be detatchable! She is devastated, okay yes its all fixable (using a different seamstress) but its not the point, they are not made to measure, they are not even how she asked for them to be! to make matters worse, the supplier, a very agressive & unapproachable woman is refusing to speak to us saying she told us they would be unchangeable or refundable as they were made to measure. The bride does have a contract with this woman but as the dresses are not "fit for purpose" is there anything we can do? I personally would be demanding a refund as I wouldnt trust her to make the alterations! If anyone has any advice you could give us we would be eternally grateful - thankfully the wedding isnt for another 8 weeks & the seamstress we know is a lovely lady & says she'll fix it no problem but that doesnt mean this other woman should be able to get away with something like this! What is a good place to buy a prom dress?
I live in milwaukee wisconsin and i was wondering if there are any stores around that sell pretty prom dresses. i mean dresses like classic ball gowns. are there any stores that no one really knows about. I dont want it to be an online store, i want it to actually be an actual store like a bridal shop but with pretty ball gowns for prom. any help would be great!

Work experience? Modelling/Fashion/Designing?
So my school recently sent out a letter to tell all the year 10 students (14-15 year olds) to be thinking about what we want to do for work experience in June 2012. I've looked around a lot so asking on this is kinda' a last resort. I really would LOVE to do something to do with fashion or modelling or photography or designing.. ect. I was to take advantage of this situation as i dream of being in the fashion industry :( Any ideas of what i could go for? Anything at all will help! I've been told that i could go for a Bridal shop because that kinda' involves fashion/dresses, i guess. I just want to do something bigger than that! Please help :(

Has anyone bought a wedding dress online?
i'm getting married June of next year, haven't really found anything in bridal shops. Was wanting to know if anyone bought their dress online, what company did you use? were you happy with the service? I am afraid because you can't try anything on if you order it online and I've heard horror stories about return policies. Any help would be greatly appreciated! Thanks so much.

What should a model charge for a photoshoot, runway, or just face makeup shoots?
I am an experienced model, but I still consider myself starting out in a sense that I still have a ways to go. I have experience in runway, print and all that but mostly bridal, whether it's American, Indian, South Asian etc. What would be the proper rate I can charge for my work if I was to be booked for a boutique? For example how much for a runway show? how much for just a photo shoot with hair and makeup included and however many changes needed do I charge for the day or the hour? Lastly, a lot of the Bridal shops do just face-make up shoots because of the different ethnicity's every makeup artist is different how much jut for that? Thank you lol due to the comment below, I also wanted to add I have my B.S. in Biology, I am completing my MBA in 2012 and I am currently doing my rotations as a Medical Student and I will be completing my MD in 2012 as well. So what I make from modeling goes to paying for my school =)

Trying on Wedding Dresses in Different Sizes?
I found a wedding dress one day while I was out "just looking" and I have been fixated on this dress ever since. The wedding is still 12 months away but I had planned on losing some more weight before trying on dresses. I am currently a US size 16 and shrinking every day, but the sample dress is a US size 12 (and I heard they typically run small). This dress that I love is considered a "couture" dress by Allure Bridals so I doubt there are bigger sample sizes in distribution. I also doubt that any self-respecting bridal shop is going to allow a size 16 girl like me to shove my way into a perfectly good size 12 bridal gown right there in the store (not that I'd want to). The dress is a modified A-line, not a super-skinny mermaid or anything like that, but still... What are my options here? Do I just need to wait until I lose enough weight to squeeze into what is probably a real-life size 10 gown, or is there other magic that can be worked? I've seen them clip too-small and too-big dresses on SYTTD, but I fear I am still too big for that. If there is a bigger size out there, how do I find it? Any suggestions?

my name is Sarah, i live a Layton UT with my boyfriend before meeting me he was in a messed up relationship that didn't end well she cheated on him, they were planing on getting married he bought her a dress for about 700 he said he spent 4000 on it i don't believe him on that lol. but we are trying to sale it we want to do a fast sale so I'm trying to find out if there are any bridal shop near Layton UT that buy wedding dresses, this dress is still in good shape she never tried it on before getting it
